Kaolin forms an integral part of coating formulation in paper and boards. Good quality kaolin with the right particle size distribution with optimum brightness and lower ‘a’ value denoting a bluer tone is always preferred.

While CaCo3 provides brightness and bulk, kaolin imparts the all important attribute of rheology, hiding power, gloss and printability. This co-pigment has a symbiotic relationship with GCC, complementing each other.
